Press Conference at SHAPE
Wednesday, 18 June 2003, 12:00 hrs

SHAPE, Belgium - General James L. Jones, Supreme Allied Commander Europe, will host an "Allied Command Europe Commanders Conference" at SHAPE on 17/18 June 2003. Topics of discussion will be NATO and ESDI, to include Operation Concordia, NATO Command Arrangements, the NATO Response Force, and current as well as future operations.

At the conclusion of this meeting, a press conference will be held in the PI Auditorium on Wednesday, 18 June 2003, from 12:00 to 12:30 hrs. Besides SACEUR, the Deputy SACEUR, Admiral Rainer Feist, the Commander-in-Chief Allied Forces Northern Europe, General Sir Jack Deverell, and the Commander-in-Chief Allied Forces Southern Europe, Admiral Gregory G. Johnson will be available for the press.

Press Centre: A press information centre will open in the PI Auditorium and in the SHAPE Cafetaria (Main Building 102) at 10:00. There will be limited communications facilities.

Security and Parking: Because of the security status, journalists are kindly asked to arrive no later than 11:00 hrs and to register at the Federal Police Building, on left outside of the Berlin Gate. Teams/journalists will be provided a press carrd and a vehicle-parking card at the PIO desk, while POlice will search the vehicles. After that, they will be authorised to enter the 100-security area and park in a designed area. From there, please proceed to the PI Auditorium (Main Building) and finalise set-ups. The press conference will start at 12:00 hrs.
