Meeting between Chief of the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff and COMKFOR 28 January 2008
PRISTINA, Kosovo, 24 January 08 – Lieutenant General Xavier de Marnhac, the Commander of KFOR and Lieutenant General Zdravko Ponos, the Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, met today in NIS. It was a regular meeting on the highest level between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR. Generals Ponos and de Marnhac have expressed their belief that the cooperation to date, based on mutual trust would be continued in the future. The two generals pointed out the importance of regular cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR, especially about the exchange of information and synchronized patrols along the Administrative Border Line. In order to prevent incidents and to control illegal crossings. COMKFOR also stated that KFOR will continue to provide a safe and secure environment and the freedom of movement in Kosovo for all citizens and will not tolerate any acts of violence or ethnic intimidation. |
