Topics for Nationally Funded Activities

Proposals for nationally-funded activities (Pilot Studies, Short-term Projects or Topical Workshops) are brought to the attention of the SPS Committee by the national representatives of the sponsoring Alliance or Partner nations and can address any subject within areas which are outlined in the Key Priorities defined by the SPS Committee. The Key Priorities fall into two broad categories:

  • Defence against terrorism;
  • Countering other threats to security;

The Key Priorities and their sub-elements can be found here (PDF/21Kb) .

The primary criteria for the approval of activities are the acknowledgement by nations of their suitability for pursuit within the SPS framework, the expressed interest of a sufficient number of nations to work collectively on them and the willingness of these nations to commit the necessary resources.
