On 11 October 2005, in response to a request from Pakistan, NATO launched an operation to assist in the urgent relief effort following the devastating 8 October earthquake. The mission ended on 1 February 2006.
The Commander of the NATO Disaster Relief team in Pakistan explains the role and impact of NATO's disaster assistance to Pakistan. He describes the challenges the mission had to overcome and the results achieved.
