Countering terrorists with techonology

Video interview with Admiral Mario Bartoli, Coordinator of NATO's Counter-Terrorism Technologies Programme

Background
NATO's contribution
to the fight against terrorism

Admiral Bartoli talks about the cutting-edge technologies that NATO is developing to defend against terrorist attacks. The Programme consists of nine priority armaments projects that, once implemented, will give the Alliance the capabilities to counter very real, and very specific threats. These include protecting large-body aircraft from portable air-ground missiles; protecting harbors and vessels from surface and subsurface attacks; detection, protection and defeat of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons; and new technology for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance of terrorist activities.
