President Sejdiu visits KFOR Multinational Task-Force West

PRISTINA, Kosovo, 6th October 2008 – Today, President Fatmir Sejdiu paid a visit to the KFOR Multinational Task-Force West based in Pec/Peje, together with Lieutenant General Giuseppe Emilio Gay, the Kosovo Force commander.

Brigadier General Agostino Biancafarina, the Multinational Task-Force West commander, welcomed the guests in Djakovica/Gjakove Airport before visiting the airfield facilities. Then they moved by helicopter to Istok/Istog to meet with the KFOR troops based there. After that, the delegation went to “Villaggio Italia”, near Pec/Peje, where they attended a briefing about the security situation in the area of responsibility of Multinational Task-Force West.

President Sejdiu thanked KFOR Soldiers for their daily commitment and effort in maintaining a safe and secure Kosovo to the benefit of all communities disregarding their ethnicity or religion.

Multinational Task-Force West has approximately 2.900 soldiers from Hungary, Italy, Romania, Slovenia and Spain and operates in the municipalities of Decani/Decan, Djakovica/Gjakove, Istok/Istog, Klina/Kline, and Pec/Peje.
