Reconstruction of the «Three Tours» bridge
Legionnaires of the 2nd engineer battalion, who serve within the Multinational Task Force North, were in charge of rebuilding the “Three Tours” bridge on the Ibar river in Mitrovica.

Construction started on 3 July 2008 and, according to sources, has been relatively steady since. It will be one month before the job is complete. Due to the bad state of the old bridge, the construction, requested by the municipality of Mitrovica, will consist of rebuilding the bridge, which was originally built with wood almost a decade ago by KFOR.
A provisional footbridge was temporarily placed to help the population cross the river safely until the bridge is complete. The entire project is financed by the combined efforts of UNMIK and KFOR.
