The celebration of the Italian national day in Multinational Task Force West
Rain could do nothing against the desire to celebrate and have a wonderful time. The storm that struck Villaggio Italia in Pec/Peje on the evening of June 1, barely affected the evening program, which Radio West of the Multinational Task Force West had organized for the eve of June 2.
The event was dedicated to the celebration of the Italian Republic National Day and the Italian Armed Forces Day.
The organization was flawless. One of the large squares of the compound was totally transformed. It was set up with white gazebos, a stage embellished by Italian flags and white, red and green balloons. They also setup tables and chairs to leisurely enjoy a delicious buffet.
The highlight of the evening was the karaoke competition between the various Italian Task forces of Villaggio Italia, organized by Radio West, which eleven solo singers representing eleven task forces took part in. All the performances turned out to be of high standard. The music ranged from Italian evergreen hits to the most recent. Finally, the jury, composed by the commanders of the task forces and chaired by the Brigadier General Agostino Biancafarina, the Commander of MNTF W proclaimed Pasquale Lo Masto, the chief of the mess of Villaggio Italia, as the winner. He represented the Italian National Support Element.
Music, dancing and fun concluded the cheerful evening. The conclusion of the official celebration took place in the morning after, during the national feast day.
