Transfer of authority of the Multinational Task-Force North

The military ceremony of transfer of authority of the Multinational Task-Force North, between Brigadier General Christian DEXTER and Brigadier General Claude MATHEY, presided over by Lieutenant General Xavier BOUT de MARNHAC, KFOR commander, took place on may 30th at camp “Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny” in Novo-Selo.

In his speech, LG de MARNHAC underlined the excellent work of BG DEXTER, who succeeded in providing a safe and secure environment; in the context sometimes difficult of this mandate (twenty French soldiers were wounded).

BG MATHEY, the new MNTF-N commander, comes from the Centre for Higher Military Studies, where he worked as the Deputy Director.  Before that, he was notably assigned to the joint-forces operational centre as the deputy director of the “ex-Yugoslavia” cell from 1996 to 1999, where he performed a mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina, in Sarajevo and in Mostar in 1997.
