Moroccan Battalion gets new commander
On Oct. 23, 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Allaoui took command of the Moroccan Battalion of the Multi-National Task Force North from Colonel Mohamed Makboub.

On Oct. 23, 2007, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Allaoui took command of the Moroccan Battalion of the Multi-National Task Force North from Colonel Mohamed Makboub.
The transfer-of-authority ceremony took place at the Pristina/Prishtine Airport with Brigadier General Olivier Jumelet, MNTF N commander, present.
The Moroccan Battalion has 217 soldiers, composing a headquarters detachment and an armored personnel carrier company. Since September 2006, the date of its deployment in camp Novo Selo, the Moroccan Battalion has the mission to guard the camp.
It is also participating to maintain the security of communication routes in the area of responsibility of MNTF N, and to protect enclaves and religious places. It has the capability to intervene with a reserve element to strengthen the guard as well.
