MNTF-W trained Kosovo Police Service members in a first aid course

MILITARY CAMP VILLAGGIO ITALIA, Peć/Pejë - A two-day first aid course was organized for members of Kosovo Police Service (KPS) in Camp Villaggio Italia. Members of Multinational Task Force West (MNTF -W) prepared the training for 20 KPS policemen from Peć/Pejë regional command. The combined activity was conducted successfully and finished on Tuesday, October 2nd, with final course certificates awarded.

The course was directed by the medical advisor and instructors from the medical centre of MNTF-W and in supporting KPS to conduct a first aid course, it gave their members the opportunity to improve their skills for intervening efficiently in case of incidents or civil emergencies. The course consisted of general first aid concepts, techniques and training exercises concerning first aid techniques and procedures. The participants became familiar with theory and practice of basic life support, stabilisation equipment and medical aid procedures. Regular collaboration is helping to overcome the different skills that are necessary for policemen and soldiers to perform professional work on the streets.

KPS and KFOR are fully co-operative partners and this regular training by MNTF-W helps to enhance the understanding between the two groups. Through soldiers and policemen exchanging their experiences and skills, this assists in keeping a safe and secure environment for the population in Kosovo.
