Trilateral meeting in HQ KFOR

It was the first such kind of meeting for Lieutenant General Xavier de Marnhac as Commander KFOR. During the meeting, COMKFOR met with Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General Mr. Joachim Ruecker and Prime Minister of Kosovo Mr. Agim Çeku.

Participants discussed current issues such as the status process and future elections in Kosovo. In the election issue, cooperation between KFOR and UNMIK in the security field was discussed. Also, Mr. Çeku briefed COMKFOR and SRSG about the first direct meetings between the Belgrade and Pristina/Prishtine delegations in two years which were held in New York on Sept. 28.

The parties agreed to hold next Trilateral Meeting probably at the beginning of November. At the end, the participants made a short statement to the media followed by questions.
