ISAF Media Badge: Requirements and process
The documents needed for first time registration:
- Copy of your passport/national IDS
- Copy of your Afghan visa (if applicant)
- Copy of your current press card
- Recent picture of you (passport style)
- Filled out Media Registration Form (.doc/438Kb)
- Letter of accreditation
For renewals of your ISAF Media Badge we need:
- Filled out Media Registration Form (.doc/438Kb)
- Letter of Accreditation
- Copy of the previous held ISAF Media Registration Card
- Recent picture of you (passport style)
Please note that a registration process can take up to 10 days. You can pick up your badge during media registration hours, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10.00-11.00. Please send all the required documents to the information below.
Recommended Media Packing Checklist
- On arrival to Afghanistan, all media should ensure that they have the following:
Passport / Visa (essential)
- ISAF accreditation (essential)
- Protective ballistic vest and helmet (essential)
- Warm/cold weather gear (depending on time of year)
- Waterproof boots (Your boots will be needed for hiking. They should be comfortable and durable for mountainous conditions.)
- Sleeping bag
- Eye protection (goggles or shatter-proof glasses)
- Ear protection (ear plugs)
- Water bottle or hydration system
- Flashlight with red lens and extra batteries
- Necessary reporting equipment (including wireless card for laptop)
- Personal medical and hygiene necessities
- Dog Tags with Name, Blood Type and Religion (if applicable.)
