Media Registration Card

Media interested in visiting any ISAF locations (or requesting embed with any ISAF troops) in Afghanistan are required to be accredited, receive a media registration card and be entered in the Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT) through ISAF HQ. Media accreditation is conducted from 10 to 11 a.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at the ISAF HQ main gate.
Media are encouraged to email the required information to accreditation@hq.isaf.nato.int prior to arriving for final accreditation and BATing. In addition, the required documents can be dropped off at the main gate during the accreditation and BATing hours. Please allow one week for your information to be processed once it is submitted. Media who do not submit all required information will not receive a badge.

First-time applicants seeking are required to provide the following items:

Applicants must bring their original passport or Afghan National ID when coming to ISAF HQ for BATing  

Statement of the Media Personnel:

Members of media agencies are subject to the laws of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Therefore, if you normally require a passport to enter in Afghanistan as a visitor, you will need a passport while travelling with ISAF Public Affairs Office (PAO) in this country. In addition, according to your nationality, you may require a visa.

ISAF PAO retains the right to request substantial evidence of the applicant's journalistic background. This may include original published articles, videotapes, published photos, etc.

Please note, the ISAF compound does not have a physical address. However, HQ ISAF is located near Massoud Circle. For directions, please tell taxis you need to go to the ISAF main gate.
