Successful humanitarian missions take place eastern Afghanistan

Mehtar Lam Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) donated tarpaulins, beans, rice, flour, blankets, shoes, rain boots, ladies clothing, hats and sugar to the Director of Women’s Affairs, who will distribute them to the women of Mehtar Lam, Laghman province. Over 100 people will benefit from the items. In addition, backpacks, teacher kits and soccer balls were also donated to the director of a girls’ school in Mehtar Lam.

In Pech district, Kunar province, ISAF soldiers distributed food and clothing to 12 families identified by the local government during the Eid celebrations.

“These humanitarian assistance missions are a gesture of respect, good-will and best wishes during their Eid celebration,” said Lt. Col. Paul Fitzpatrick, Regional Command East spokesman.
