ISAF Press Conference with General McNeill

KABUL, Afghanistan – Media are invited to attend a press conference at ISAF Headquarters with General Dan K. McNeill, ISAF commander on Monday, June 2, 2:00 p.m. This will be General McNeill’s last press conference as ISAF commander.

Due to restricted space and increased security precautions, media attendance at this event will be strictly limited to registered agents who possess a current media pass and who are entered in the Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT).

Attendees are kindly requested to respond to this advisory to acknowledge their participation by listing their name and agency in an e-mail to pressoffice@hq.isaf.nato.int by 8 a.m., June 2.

Please arrive at the HQ ISAF main gate no earlier than 12:30 p.m. and no later than 1:00 p.m., for a security check prior to being escorted to the conference location. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Additionally, no vehicles, cell phones, or laptop computers will be permitted onto the camp.

For security reasons, all personnel entering the ISAF compound will be scanned. This procedure is safe for men and women. Personal belongings are subject to x-ray inspection and/or search by trained dogs. The scanner is safe for people and items such as medication and film. Those with concerns about this procedure can notify the escorting public affairs officer.

This press conference will be video-taped and can be accessed approximately 2-3 days after the press conference, via Digital Video Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS) at the following internet address: http://www.dvidshub.net.

NOTE: DVIDS is a U.S. Army-based state-of-the-art media hub that provides timely, accurate connections between media around the world and military serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain.  It uses a network of satellite transmitter’s deployed in-theater and a distribution hub in Atlanta Georgia to make available real-time broadcast-quality video, still images, and print products.
