Media invited to ISAF for BATing and Accreditation

KABUL, Afghanistan – News media representatives are invited to attend a special media Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT)ing and accreditation process today and Thursday, May 29 from 8:30 a.m. through 12 p.m. at ISAF.

The additional accreditation days are being offered to ensure all local and international media are properly accredited before the anticipated early June press conferences with the ISAF commander.

Required registration documents are listed on the ISAF website at http://www.nato.int/isaf/services/media_card.html.

All media are asked to leave their cell phones and laptop computers outside ISAF while going through this media BATing and accreditation process.

Personal belongings are subject to x-ray inspection and/or search by trained dogs. The scanner is safe for people and items such as medication and film. Those with concerns about this procedure can notify the escorting public affairs officer.

All news media representatives must bring their valid ISAF press registration card and a tazkera or alternatively, a national passport.
