NATO HQ   29 Jan. 2007	Gen. Henault welcomes confirmation of new deputy chairman, Lt.-Gen. Karl Eikenberry "I welcome the U.S. Senate's confirmation of Lt.-Gen. Eikenberry as the deputy chairman of the Military Committee," said Gen. Ray Henault. "The military representatives of the 26 NATO chiefs of defence work hard at the headquarters in Brussels every day to progress a wide range of issues respecting NATO capabilities, operations, partnerships and reforms. Afghanistan is "Job 1" at NATO, and his recent command experience in theatre will further strengthen and inform the advice we bring forward to political authorities, and the direction we provide to military authorities. I look forward to welcoming Lt.-Gen. Eikenberry as the Military Committee deputy chairman this spring.
