General Henault visits Slovenia

Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, General Ray Henault, visited the Slovenian Armed Forces Kranj barracks on 30 March, where he was given a presentation by the 18th Battalion Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defence decontamination unit.

The presentation was part of a three-day official visit to Slovenia by the Chairman (right), who was hosted by the Slovene Armed Forces Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General Ladislav Lipic (centre) and accompanied by the Military Representatives of the NATO Military Committee.

General Henault praised the "quality over quantity" approach by the Slovenian Armed Forces, arguing that this concept of specialization, in areas such as decontamination, was in-line with the long-term objectives of NATO.

"The importance of the Slovene Armed Forces is considerable, as it is specializing in those areas where it can contribute significantly to NATO's overall capability and efficiency", remarked General Henault.
