NATO’s top military official visits Slovakia

General Ray Henault, (left), Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, visited the Slovak Republic October 7 and 8, where he was welcomed by Lt.-Gen. L'ubomir Bulik, Slovakia's Chief of the General Staff.

General Henault also met with the State Secretary of Defence and other Slovak officials, conveying appreciation for that country's valued contribution to NATO and progress on substantial defence and security reforms, putting Slovakia on track to meet NATO deployability and sustainability targets.

The Chairman of the Military Committee directs the day-to-day business of the Committee, NATO’s highest military authority, and acts on its behalf.

General Ray Henault of Canada was appointed Chairman on 16 June 2005, succeeding General Harald Kujat of Germany.
