NATO’s Military Committee meets
in Chiefs of Defence Session

to bid farewell to their Chairman, General Harald Kujat
and welcome his Successor, General Ray Henault

General Harald Kujat (German Air Force) will complete his appointment as Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee on Thursday, 16 June 2005. On that day, General Kujat will formally hand over the Chairmanship of the Military Committee to his successor, General Ray Henault (Canadian Air Force). A short ceremony will take place at NATO Headquarters from 1400hrs to 1515hrs.

The Military Committee is the highest military decision-making authority in NATO, assisting and advising the North Atlantic Council on all military matters. The Chairman of the Military Committee is selected by the Chiefs of Defence and appointed for a three- year term of office.
