General Harald Kujat, Chairman of NATO's
Military Committee visits the Russian Federation from 22-23 October 2002
General Harald KUJAT, Chairman of the Military Committee, NATO's highest
military authority, will visit Moscow from 22 to 23 October 2002. He will
meet Mr. Nikolayev, Chairman of the Duma Defence Committee and have discussions
with General Anatoly Kvashnin, Chief of the Russian Federation General
Staff. He will also call on senior government officials.
This is General Kujat's first visit to the Russian Federation as Chairman
of NATO's Military Committee. The purpose of his visit is to deepen relations
between NATO's military authorities and those of the Russian Federation
and to discuss matters of common military interest.
General Kujat will also visit NATO's recently opened Military Liaison
Mission in Moscow.
