Exercise Cooperative Support 2001Exercise COOPERATIVE SUPPORT 2001 (COSUP 1) will take
place from 17 to 23 October 2001 in Borovets, Bulgaria.
This is the seventh in the cosup series, and is nato's
only exercise specifically designed to prepare NATO and
Partnership for Peace (PfP) nations to operate together
from a logistical perspective. This scenario-driven, seminar style joint logistics
exercise will promote closer military cooperation and
interoperability between nato and partner nations. The
participants will have the opportunity to learn nato doctrine
concerning various logistical aspects of a Peace Support
Operation (PSO) including maritime, land, air, amphibious
and medical components. More than 100 logistics officers from most of the NATO
and PfP member nations will participate. Mediterranean
Dialogue nations have been invited to attend as observers. COSUP 01 will be under the direction of the Supreme Allied Command Atlantic, (SACLANT), General William F. Kernan US ARMY and will be conducted by the Commander-in-Chief West Atlantic (CINCWESTLANT), Admiral Robert Natter, US Navy. Note to Editors:A
