Exercise Cooperative Support 2001

Exercise COOPERATIVE SUPPORT 2001 (COSUP 1) will take place from 17 to 23 October 2001 in Borovets, Bulgaria. This is the seventh in the cosup series, and is nato's only exercise specifically designed to prepare NATO and Partnership for Peace (PfP) nations to operate together from a logistical perspective.

This scenario-driven, seminar style joint logistics exercise will promote closer military cooperation and interoperability between nato and partner nations. The participants will have the opportunity to learn nato doctrine concerning various logistical aspects of a Peace Support Operation (PSO) including maritime, land, air, amphibious and medical components.

More than 100 logistics officers from most of the NATO and PfP member nations will participate. Mediterranean Dialogue nations have been invited to attend as observers.

COSUP 01 will be under the direction of the Supreme Allied Command Atlantic, (SACLANT), General William F. Kernan US ARMY and will be conducted by the Commander-in-Chief West Atlantic (CINCWESTLANT), Admiral Robert Natter, US Navy.
