NATO's Highest Military Authority meets at NATO Headquarters

The following meetings will take place:
  1. The 144th meeting of the Military Committee in Chiefs of Staff Session on Tuesday 20 November.
  2. The 9th meeting of the Military Committee in Chiefs of Staff Session with Ukraine on Tuesday 20 November.
  3. The 9th Euro-Atlantic Partnership Military Committee meeting in Chiefs of Staff Session on Wednesday 21 November.
  4. The 8th meeting of the Permanent Joint Council in Chiefs of Staff Session on Wednesday 21 November.

Items discussed at these meetings will include:

  • NATO's response and military role in the current Article 5 situation
  • The ongoing situation in the Balkans
  • The European Security and Defence Identity
  • Partnership for Peace training and exercises
  • Progress report on NATO-Russia practical military cooperation
  • Implementation of the NATO Force Structure Review
  • The election of the new Chairman of the Military Committee

Press Conference

The Chairman of the Military Committee, Admiral Guido Venturoni, will debrief on all meetings during a press conference on Wednesday 21 November at 1700 hours in the Brosio Room, NATO Press Area. All accredited journalists are invited to attend.

Wednesday 21 November

Opening of the meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Military Committee in Chiefs of Staff Session. (Sqn Ldr Sylvia Darby will meet media pool in NATO press area at 0900 hours).

Opening of the meeting of the Permanent Joint Council in Chiefs of Staff Session. (Sqn Ldr Sylvia Darby will meet media pool in NATO press area at 1330 hours).

Accreditation

Journalists wishing to cover the meetings will be allowed into the NATO premises on presentation of a NATO accreditation pass or a valid press pass.
