The Final Planning Conference co-chaired by Mr. Damir Trut, Deputy Director, National Protection and Rescue Directorate, Republic of Croatia and Mr. Guenter Bretschneider, Head EADRCC, was held in Biograd, Croatia on 28-29 March 2007.

All together, 130 representatives from twenty-nine EAPC nations and the Civil Protection Committee, as well as national experts from the Planning Board for Inland Surface Transportation took part in the event. In addition, NATO Military Authorities and the Partnership Information Management System were represented in the event.

The main objectives of the conference were to confirm the acceptance of national teams and staff offered for the exercise, to fine tune the exercise command structure, to finalise the Training and Observers program as well as to clarify issues related to the host nation support and media aspects.

To facilitate the further work of the DISTAFF WG, all nations were invited to confirm their national contribution to the exercise. As a result, twenty-one EAPC nations have nominated 43 civilian and military teams with approximately 560 personnel and 110 vehicles.

The conference was very well organised and productive too. The general conclusion was that this event facilitated very much the final preparation and, hopefully, the successful conduct of the exercise Idassa 2007.
