2008 NATO Standardization Conference
to be held in the USA

On 16-18 September 2008, the NATO Standardization Conference will be held in the United States (USA) at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Virginia. This two and a half–day conference is sponsored by the United States Department of Defense, NATO Standardization Agency, and Allied Command Transformation (ACT). The event will bring together national delegates and experts from NATO and Partner countries.

The conference theme “Interoperability through Standardization” reflects the close linkage between standardization and interoperability, which helps to support multinational force operations.  Close to 200 attendees and speakers are anticipated for this educational and networking gathering. Civilian standards developing organizations that are or would like to be involved in NATO standardization activities would also benefit from this conference.

The content of the conference targets the USA Department of Defense and Ministry of Defense military, civilian and contractor personnel from NATO member nations and Partnership for Peace countries, who are required to have a fundamental knowledge of current and future NATO standardization activities.

Advance registration is encouraged, as seating is limited.  For more information, contact  Cesare Balducci at NATO Standardization Agency, tel. +32 2 707 4546, C.Balducci@nsa.nato.int; the US Defense Standardization Program Office at tel. 1-703-767-6872 or visit the conference website.
